Resources and services created for the NSF/DARPA/NASA Digital Libraries Initiative
(DLI1) project at the University of Illinois (1994-1998), the CNRI-sponsored Illinois
D-Lib Test Suite project (1998 - 2001), and associated collaborating partners programs.
IMLS National Leadership Grant project to create and study a collection registry and
item-level metadata repository for digital collections associated with IMLS NLG
projects. In collaboration with the Graduate School of Library & Information
Science. (2002 - 2005)
The Library of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is creating an
OAI-PMH metadata harvesting service to aggregate metadata describing information
resources held by participating CIC Libraries.
The UIUC Library will make this metadata aggregation available to end-users (students,
faculty, and the general public), both within and outside of the CIC, using
appropriate, state-of-the-art search and discovery tools and browsing and navigation
interfaces.

Library E-Registry List and Online Catalog for citations not directly retrieving
full-text.
Hub and Spoke provides a method for exchanging digital files and metadata among
different types of digital management systems built on different platforms. It
provides basic interoperability between repositories via a common METS-based
profile, a standard programming API, and a series of scripts that use the API
and METS profile for creating SIPs and DIPs that can be used across different
repositories.
