dc:Coverage

Time or Place which constrain the context of the object.

dc:Creator

The author of a work, both individual and corporate. This may also include an affiliation for individual authors. Affiliations and corporate authors may also include addresses.

dc:Date

Any dates relevant to the object, such as paper publication date, date accepted for publication, date it was made available online, etc.

dc:Description

This will always contain an abstract for the object.

dc:Format

This will be the MIME type and/or a size in bytes of the object (if known). For some MIME types, the object is dynamically derived, so the size may not be know a priori.

dc:Identifier

Any identifiers which can be used to uniquely refer to the object, such as DOI, internal accession numbers, PIIs, etc.

dc:Language

A code taken from RFC 1766 which identifies the language of the object, such as ‘EN’ for English.

dc:Publisher

The organization name, possibly including an address, for the entity who published the article.

dc:Relation

References to related resources. These can include external resources, such as cited or citing works, alternate forms of the current work such as PDF, HTML, and XML, or parts of the current work, such as figures or tables.

dc:Rights

This currently includes a boilerplate statement of copyright ownership for the work, and may include a Copyright Clearance Center Code (CCC).

dc:Source

This field will always identify the paper publication from which this digital object was derived, including information such as Journal Title, Volume, Page Number, etc. For a digital object for which multiple alternate formats/types is available, this field may also refer to a digital authoritative original from which this object is derived.

dc:Subject

This field will always contain a key word, phrase, or code from a controlled vocabulary which describes the object.

dc:Title

The title of the work as it appears in the work.

dc:Type

The type of the object such as: collection, dataset, event, image, interactive resource, model, party, physical object, place, service, software, sound, or text. May also include a subtype.

dc:Contributor

This is the only Dublin Core Element not currently in use in our testbed.

idli:abstract

The text of the abstract for the item. Contained in dc:Description.

idli:alternate

type

A reference to a related alternate form of the current work. The ‘type’ attribute can be ‘full text,’ ‘citation,’ or ‘authoritative original.’ Contained in dc:Relation.

idli:author_info

An individual author name and affiliation, or a corporate author name. Contained in dc:Creator and idli:external.

idli:author_name

An individual author’s name, typically ‘last_name, first_name.’ Contained in idli:author_info.

idli:ccc

Copyright Clearance Code for the item. Contained in dc:Rights.

idli:controlled_term

authority

A controlled subject term which describes the item. The ‘authority’ attribute describes the controlling authority for the term thesaurus used, such ‘ 1997 PAC.’ Contained in dc:Subject.

idli:copyright

Boilerplate copyright statement for the work, such as ‘Copyright 1999 American Institute of Physics.’ . Contained in dc:Rights.

idli:date

event

An important date in the history of the object. The ‘event’ attribute describes the date. Contained in dc:Date.

idli:external

type

A reference to an external entity related to the current work. The ‘type’ attribute can be ‘citation,’ ‘forward citation,’ or ‘referrer.’ Contained in dc:Relation.

idli:first_page

The page number in the paper source at which the current work starts. Contained in idli:publication.

idli:identifier

scheme

Any type of formal identifying number or code. Can be used for identifying the current work or the journal, such as DOI or PII, or CODEN or ISSN. The ‘scheme’ attribute indicates what the identifier is, such as ‘DOI’ or ‘CODEN.’ Is contained in dc:Identifier, idli:publication, and idli:external.

idli:issue

The issue number of the from which the current work is derived. Is contained in idli:publication.

idli_item_title

The title of the work as it appears in the work. Is contained in dc:Title.

idli:language

A code taken from RFC 1766 which identifies the language of the object, such as ‘EN’ for English. Is contained in dc:Language.

idli:last_updated

The date on which this metadata record was last updated. Is contained in idli:preparation.

idli:link

The URL to a related entity. The ‘mime’ attribute identifies the MIME type of the object pointed to by the URL. The ‘role’ attribute identifies the role of the link, such as: xml full text, raw sgml full text, raw xml full text, html full text, aip citation, etc. Is contained in idli:external, idli:alternate, and idli:part.

idli:livelink_pdf

This is the URL to the authoritative original in PDF format. This is a duplicate of other elements, but is needed due to limitations of the database/indexing software in use.

idli:livelink_xml

This is the URL to the authoritative original in XML format. This is a duplicate of other elements, but is needed due to limitations of the database/indexing software in use.

idli:mime

The MIME type of the current object. Is contained in dc:Format.

idli:organization_name

This contains the name of a corporate author or a publisher of the current work. It may include address information in addition to the name itself. Is contained in dc:Publisher and idli:author_info.

idli:pagination

This is the complete pagination of the item as it occurs in the source, and may include discontinuous ranges such as ‘45-47, 48, 50-53.’ Is contained in idli:publication.

idli:part

type

A reference an otherwise standalone object which makes up a part of the current work. The ‘type’ attribute can be ‘figure’ or ‘table.’ Is contained in dc:Relation.

idli:place

The name of a geographic place which describes a coverage area for the current work. Is contained in dc:Coverage.

idli:preparation

Contains information about the preparation of this metadata records, such as the preparers name, email, and date of last update.

idli:preparer_email

The email address of the person responsible for the last update of this metadata record. Is contained in idli:preparation.

idli:preparer_name

The name of the person responsible for the last update of this metadata record. Is contained in idli:preparation.

idli:publication

type

Information about a publication, such as a journal issue, which is the source of the current work. This may include journal name, volume, first page, etc. Is contained in dc:Source and idli:external.

idli:publication_date

This is the date of publication used for related item. The date of publication for the current item is contained in the dc:Date field. Is contained in idli:publication.

idli:publication_title

The title of a publication, such as a journal title. Is contained in idli:publication.

idli:publication_title_abbreviation

Common abbreviations for a publication’s title, such ‘J. Appl. Phy.’ for the ‘Journal of Applied Physics.’ Is contained in idli:publication.

idli:short_author_display

This is a list of author names for use in short citation displays. It typically only includes the first three authors, followed by at al. This could be derived from the dc:Creator fields but is needed due to limitations of the database/indexing software in use.

idli:size

The file size of the current work in bytes. Is contained in dc:Format.

idli:subtype

May be used in conjunction with idli:type to more fully describe the type of an object. Is contained in dc:Type.

idli:time

A time period which describes the temporal coverage for the current work. Is contained in dc:Coverage.

idli:title

The complete displayable title or description for some related work or some part of the current work. This is commonly the same text as would be seen for a citation, and may include authors, journal title, page, etc. or the text used for a figure or table caption. The official title of the current work is located in the idli:item_title element. Is contained in idli:external and idli:part.

idli:type

The type of the object such as image, sound, or text. Is contained in dc:Type.

idli:volume

The volume number or volume identifier for the publication in which a work is published. Is contained in idli:publication.

idli:volume_title

The official title of the individual volume in a series in which the work is published. Is contained in idli:publication.
